Welcome to 800 Fulton, a mixed-use creative office building that marks the gateway to one of Chicago's most dynamic neighborhoods. The 19-story landmark development enlivens the streetscape with retail, restaurants, and public amenities, and its office spaces raise the standards for workplace environments. Targeting both LEED® Platinum and the WELL Building Standard certification, this project meets the highest sustainability standards.
Fulton Market is a chic residential area with various excellent dining and nightlife options on Chicago's near-west side. The Art Deco-ish design is a perfect canvas for terrazzo and blends nicely with the large glass storefronts and tall brick walls. Twelve thousand eight hundred eighty-nine marble inserts were strategically placed in a soldier-style grid resembling area rugs. Each marble insert was spaced out precisely at 7/8" horizontally and 1 1/8" vertically, along with two coats of sealer to achieve a matte look finish. Maintaining precise spacing between marble inserts was challenging and perfectly executed by Menconi Terrazzo, along with ensuring ample amounts of terrazzo aggregates were troweled into the spaces between each tile.
