Epoxy binder resin offer exceptional compressive, tensile and flexural strength and contains no VOC so it will not affect indoor air quality during or after construction. The epoxy resin is colored just like paint. Light or dark base material is selected and then pigment is adding accordingly. We can match any paint or pantone color. Binder resin represents approximately 30% of the by weight.
The remaining 70% of the terrazzo is composed of crushed aggregate or chips. There is a wide variety of aggregate options such as marble, granite, recycled glass, porcelain or metal that offer a wide variety of colors. Aggregate is also available in a variety of different sizes.
Divider strips offer both form and function. They are used to create the form to retain the poured terrazzo mix. Aesthetically, dividers serve as the skeleton to the terrazzo flooring design, offering designers the ability to create custom designs and patterns. The thickness of the terrazzo strips may be varied to compliment the flooring design. Strips are also offered in different materials, most commonly aluminum as well as zinc, brass or plastic.
